Preventive work in medicine
The National Heart Foundation has plans for next year in preventive medicine | in schools and in the com- ! munity. 1 Two new mobile units for I public education will begin I work next year. One will ! start in the Auckland area 1 i early next year and another, probably based in Christchurch, will come into use 1 later in the year. A similar ‘ ' unit has been working in the Wellington area this year. A special officer funded by the Heart Foundation will begin working in the curriculum development unit of the Department of Educa- ' tion in Wellington early in . 1979 with responsibility for .preparing material for teachI ers and pupils in all primary and secondary schools on health education work re- , Hated to the prevention of | heart problems. i The new officer will join a team of health resource workers who will be responsible for pwiding teaching material and back-up resources for teachers working in social and health education fields.
