Heat near record
Christchurch sweltered yesterday on one of the hottest days recorded for November. The 31.1 deg measured at Christchurch Airport is believed to have been the highest for the month in 10 years. The highest November
temperature at the airport, still stands at 32.2 deg, which was recorded in 1923. Many people headed for pools and beaches to cool off in the afternoon. The Centennial Pool reported one of its better days this season.
A southerly wind brought a cool respite last evening Today's forecast is for t change to moderate north easterly winds and possiblj drizzle in the morning However, the weather ii expected to improve in the afternoon, with mild rem peratures.
