Papers, journalists seized in Teheran
I NZPA Teheran All except one of the daily newspapers in the Iranian capital, Teheran, : were seized early yester- | day on the orders of the martial-law authorities, according to newspaper sources. A number of Iranian ■ journalists were also re- | ported to have been ar- , rested during the night, I after a day of anti-Gov-ernment violence in the ! capital on Sunday. Only “Rastakhiz,” formerly organ of the former sole legal political party of that name, was on sale v at news-stands. Those seized included ; the two English-language > papers, “Kayhan” and “Teheran Journal,” the French-language “Journal de Teheran,” and the Per-sian-language “Ayandegan.” The martial-law admin- . istrator, General Gholam : AH Oveissi, warned on Sunday that the two-month-old martial law would be fully applied.
