Plane forced to land
Four persons had a lucky' escape when a light aircraft I made a forced landing on ’ a beach 54km north of Kaikcrura yesterday. The Cessna 172 aircraft ' was flying from Ardmore to I Christchurch when it suffered engine failure about 11.45 a.m. The pilot made a safe landing on “The Shades" beach. The aircraft was not damaged in the landing, and noone was injured. A helicopter may be required to remove the plane from the beach.
