Action against firm?
The Canterbury Woollen, Workers’ Union is considering taking legal action against a bag making company in Christchurch. The union’s secretary (Mr D. Shenker) said on Friday' that the workers were annoyed because the company wanted to reduce their work hours to reduce penal rates. The company works a' 24-hour day. seven days a week but. wants to reduce this to three eight-hour shifts 1 on a five-dav week.
