Air Forces to compete
PA Auckland Aircraft from four countries will participate in an anti-submarine exercise, and competition off the Bay ’ of Plenty coast today. They will compete for the Fincastle Trophy, an ornate silver tray provided for competition by the family of a Royal Air Force pilot who was killed in World War 11. The Air Forces of New, ; Zealand. Australia, Canada, ! and Britain have competed ' for the trophy for 17 years. ! The aircraft, will fly from i the R.N.Z.A.F. base at Whenuapai. and will hunt the Australian submarine H.M.A.S. Otway.
