N.Z. loses softball
NZPA San Salvador Canada whitewashed New Zealand, 10-0, and the United States beat Taiwan, 1-0, in the semifinals of the world women’s softball championship on Saturday. The United States and Canada will meet for the Diamond Trophy in the final game of the weeklong tournament. In other games, New Zealand beat the Bahamas, 9-2, and Taiwan beat Australia, 4-2.
