Versatile president
This year’s president of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr A. T. Metherell, has been associated with the running of the Rangiora Show for many years now. Mr Metherell of Melbury. North Loburn is 57 years old and took over
the property he is presently farming from his father in 1955. He runs a commercial flock of Corriedale sheep as well as cropping 80/100 acres per year. Alan Metherell was educated at North Loburn Primary School and Rangiora High School. He was B Branch Secretary of Federated Farmers for 16 years. He has been on the Loburn Domain Board for 20 years and has been its Secretary for 6 years. Alan Metherell is also a member of the Rangiora Rotary Club.
