Concert helps reduce deficit
A two-hour concert at the; Town Hall on Sunday raised about $l5OO for the Christchurch Arts Festival. About 500 people l attended. The money will go towards clearing a $15,500 deficit from the arts festival; last March. The festival organisers had hoped to raise! about $BOOO from the concert. The Canterbury Orchestra, the Bob Bradford Big Band, the Court Theatre, the Southern Ballet Company, and Malcolm McNeill performed free yesterday and the Town Hall board of management gave free use of the auditorium and of the services of Town Hall staff. The director of the Arts Festival (Mrs Helen Holmes) said that Christchurch
