Showroom
Cautious approval was given to Wrightson NMA’s application to build a wholesale liquor licencing showroom and offices in Lester Lane.
The Mayor felt that the building could create a traffic hazard and he opposed the granting of the specified departure application. “The traffic travelling south wanting to turn into Lester Lane would be in grave danger from the traffic coming from Moorhouse Avenue,” he said. The town planning hearing committee of the council recommended that the application should be granted subject to conditions to safeguard traffic movements in the area and that staff prepare and submit these conditions for consideration at the next committee meeting.
