Another new Wallaby

NZPA Sydney The Parramatta rugby captain, Tony Melrose, has been chosen by the A.R.U. selectors to replace the injured Paul McLean for the balance of the Wallabies’ New Zealand tour. McLean had medial ligament damage before the second test last Saturday, and now might need surgery for a cartilage injury following last Saturday’s second test. Melrose, who captained the Australian schoolboys on their 1967-68 tour of the British Isles, will leave for New Zealand on an early flight today. The Parramatta captain, whom many thought should have been in the original touring party, will join the team in time for the match against Wanganui tomorrow, but it will be up to the tour selectors to decide how soon to introduce him on the programme of matches.
