Lefroy (Decies —Beaute de L'Or), which had been disputing Caulfield Cup favouritism with So Called, ran a fighting fourth. In the newly framed markets for the Caulfield Cup I (2400 m to be run on October 21. So Called is at 4/1 and Lefroy the second favourite at 7/1.
