South Africa and sport
Sir, —I am afraid to think what would happen to Mr Richards if he lived in Russia. I feel that he would be better employed in attempting to help the Maori cause in New Zealand rather than trying to put the rest of the world right. What I fail to see is how he knows more about New Zealand’s part in the Gleneagles Agreement than Commonwealth officials. I feel that if I want to play sport against South Africa the decision should be mine and mine alone.— Yours, etc., JOHN MANSON. August 24, 1978.
