MSI move into chemicals
MSI Corporation, Ltd, has launched a new company, MSI Chemicals, Ltd. It will manufacture a full range of boat and car care products for the New Zealand, Australian and Pacific Basin markets.
The company is expected to become a major export earner for New Zealand.
The manager of MSI Chemicals (Mr W. W. Booth) said the products would meet car and boat owners’ needs for cosmetic, maintenance, and repair chemicals. The range includes cleaners, waxes, sealants, vinyl restorer, car body repair compounds; and for boats, special bilge cleaners, rust arrestors, teak cleaner and restorer, and. other maintenance products. The products are based on formulas developed by a leading American manufacturer of car-care products. MSI Chemicals is adhering, meticulously to the United i, States specifications at its new 7000 sq ft factory in Mt Wellington. Mr Booth said rigid conditions of manufacture had been behind the success of the products in America, where they had become a market leader. MSI Chemicals would be repeating these measures in Mt Wellington, he said. Mr Booth, who has had 15 years in the chemical industry, has been working on
the MSI Chemicals project for several months. He has made visits to America and Australia to examine manufacturing and marketing policies in connection with the project.
