Liquor sale meeting
A public meeting on the thorny question of the sale of liquor in sport clubs will be held in Christchurch on September 17. All sporting clubs in the district will be invited to the meeting, which will be held in the Shirley Rugby Club’s rooms, under the chairmanship of the president of the Canterbury
Rugby Union (Mr R. W. Thomas). The meeting is being arranged by Messrs G. T. Nolan, S. McLaughlin and T. P. George, of the rugby club captains’ and presidents’ committee. They intend to invite all members of Parliament in the area, and are arranging for four speakers to address the gathering.
