N.Z. team stricken
NZPA Berlin A stomach virus has stricken all but two members of New Zealand’s 13member team at the world swimming championships, it was announced yesterday. A team spokesman said Rebecca Perrott was the first to come down with the ailment and had to go for two days without food. She is to swim tonight in the 100 m freestyle. Other victims include Paul Rowe, of Christchurch, who had to scratch from the 100 m butterfly, and Penny McCarthy, who decided to compete in the 200 m butterfly although she could eat nothing for two days.
