Dixon third in mile
NZPA-Reuter Edinburgh Rod Dixon, of Christchurch, had to be content with third place in the mile event at the Highland Games at Meadowbank I yesterday. | Graham Williamson, who was • I left out of Scotland's Common- ! wealth Games team, won in 3min 58sec_, with England’s Nick Rose and Dixon finishing behind him. Allan Wells. Britain’s fastestever sprinter and winner of three medals for Scotland at the Edmonton Games, won the two sprint events. He won the 100 m in 10.4 Isec, beating the Trinidad sprinter. Hasely Crawford, and took the 200 m in 20.785ec.
