Terrorists 'may use missiles’
; NZPA Washington ' Terrorists may be using ! heat-seeking missiles for attacks within six months, ! according to a just-published Centra] Intelligence Agency report. The report said terrorists might resort to this type of weapon to avoid direct confrontation with strengthened security forces. The C.I.A. also predicted I that the activity of West I German extremist groups ' would be stepped up, in the report made public by a Congressional committee. Although the leading figures in the German anarchI ist movement were dead, the organisations they represent'ed still posed a threat, the emphasised. The C.I.A. study judged that Palestinian terrorist acts would continue. In Europe similar acts could be perpetrated as a result of separatist feeling and in South Africa they could be provoked if the policy of apartheid is maintained, the report held. “In sum, the decline in the frequency of international terrorist attacks is expected to level off and may even be reversed,” the report concluded.
