A “radio auction” he.' yesterday by Radio 3ZB an the Hornby Rotary Clu, raised nearly $2OOO, plus more pledges to come.
The auction was he’d traise the remaining $4OOl needed for a four-wheel drive rescue ambulance foi the Otira-Arthur’s Pass Equipment Society.
TVl’s newsreader, Bill McCarthy, was the guest auctioneer at the auction. Items sold ranged from boxes of chocolates and transistor radios to cars.
