Detectives fingerprinting a rental car they believe was used by thieves who stole $23,000 worth of rings from a Christchurch jeweller’s shop last Thursday. The police want to hear from anyone who saw the car, a 1977-78 Hillman Avenger, parked near the Curtis Ring House, 124 Cashel Street, about midday on Thursday. Detectives believe the car was being driven by a woman. She had two male passengers. No arrest had been made by last evening.
