Alarm bells unattended
One of the problems facing the property owner is the public’s reluctance to take the necessary action when hearing an alarm bell ringing. The clever burglar knows this, so the bell is becoming less effective either as a deterrent or as a means of detecting breakins. The public cannot be blamed for this. Most commercial premises are being located in areas remote from (residential districts and where there are few passersby. Should a passer-by hear the bell in the early hours of the morning, he seldom ■ takes action as he is more I keen to get home to bed than he is to possibly become involved with either the burglar or the police. To solve this problem Burglar Alarm Monitoring Services (N.Z.) Ltd operates “Answerscan” /— silent alarm monitoring which does away with bells and sirens and invariably results in the intruders being apprehended by the police, Phone 795-820 now.
