University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC LECTURER (PRELIMINARY) IN ENGLISH (Post 78/44) APPLICATIONS are invited for the post of Lecturer (Preliminary) in English which becomes vacant from January 1, 1979. Applicants must have a good degree in English, preferably in Teaching English as a Second Language. Preference will be given to candidates with an advanced degree. In addition, experience and expertise in preparing and writing courses for improving English skills through distance teaching at senior secondary and postsecondary levels will be considered an advantage. The successful candidate will be required to undertake some internal teaching but his main responsibility will be in preparing and teaching courses in the University’s extension programme and in related duties. Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience in the scale: ?F5556-SFIO,BOB.
In addition, the University provides 15 per cent gratuity, superannuation contribution, appointment allowance, partly furnished accommodation at a maximum rental at present of 15 per cent of salary, this is under review. Appointments will be for a contract period of three years and will be renewable by mutual agreement.
