The yarding of more than 2000 had ■ included a line of May-shorn Cor- ; riedale ewes, most of them due ‘to the Ccrriedale ram.

They drew a big following, and competition was keen. Compared with recent sales, the market was, up to $2 a head stronger, the two-shear ewes selling to $21.20, and the four-year-olds to $2O. Woolly ewes with lambs at foot sold to $9.70 all counted, shorn ewes with lambs at $7.50 to 57.80 all counted, and woolly one-shear wethers to $9,20. Sales .of store sheep included:— Hoggets.— Crosby Farm (Swannanoa), 80 Corriedale ewes at 520.80; Ashwood Downs (Greendale) , 200 autumn-shorn Coopworth ewes at $2O to $20.70; D. The market was, however, again strong. The yarding was estimated at 600 head, and again included a fair number of cattle in the rising yearling category. Some of them were in quite good winter order. They continued to meet a ready sale, the steers reaching $96, the best of the heifers $B6, and smaller at S4O to $55. Two-year-old steers reached $176, and there were a number of sales In the $l5O to Sl6O range. Most were in the small to medium category. Sales of store cattle included: Grown cattle. — I. D. Fat pigs Another small yarding of fat pigs was forward, and values were fully firm on last week’s improved rates. Quality was quite good, including a fair selection of both porkers and baconers.
