High fashion at Fiesta
Much of the fashion scene is no Longer seasonal, says Miss Nyra Lipman, the buyer for Fiesta at DIC/Beaths. The “whole ■pretty look” tends to carry on throughout the year. The wide range of soft, flowing dresses, suits and skirts in Fiesta at the moment seem to confirm this.
Fiesta has been part of the Colombo Street frontage of the ground floor of DIC/Beaths for a year. Before this it occupied a corner shop in the Bank of New Zealand building, and the steady patronage it enjoyed here, from the women of Christchurch, has followed it to DIC/ Beaths. The shop is re-
cognised by manufacturers as one of the top fashion shops in New Zealand, says Miss Lipman. The well-groomed look of Miss Lipman and her assistants enhances the atmosphere of the shop, showing how well the clothes of today can look when worn with flair.
Nyra Lipman has been with Fiesta for seven years and has “always loved clothes.” She has confidence in her ability as a buyer to choose clothes that her customers will enjoy, and says that all hetfashion lines have New Zealand labels. They are made by' New Zealand manufacturers with overseas ideas.
