Chch strong in play finals
PA Blenheim i Three plays from thei North Island and three from! the South Island have been 11 selected for the national finals of the Theatre Federation’s festival of one-act plays. The finalists were announced in Blenheim by the semi-finals judge, Mrs Ailsa Toy. of Hawera, after the! South Island finals at the I week-end. 11 The winning South Island play was “The Life of Her-; cules, Page One." presented', by the Elmwood Players, of! Christchurch. The runners-up were; Marlborough Repertory’s! "Krapp’s Last Tape,” and! the Halswell Drama Group, of Christchurch, with “Home '■ Free.” i; The North Island finalists ( are the Manawatu Little Theatre’s “After Magritte,” : and “Passion.” and the Hast-ii ings Theatre Group’s u *'Lovers-Winners.“ i
