(1) THE RECREATION EDUCATION ADVISER will be responsible to the director for co-ordinat-ing the recreation education programmes and courses of the Council. Although generally this will involve servicing the Recreational Education Committee, this officer will also be available to the other standing committees of the Council for advice and assistance in the conduct of courses for sporting and recreational personnel. In particular, it will be necessary for the appointee to be able to work with appropriate educational institutions and agencies, especially in the areas of education for leisure and recreational guidance. <2) THE RECREATION LEADERSHIP ADVISER will be responsible to the Director for co-ordinat-ing the leadership programmes and courses which relate to the Diploma of the Council, a proposed certificate of recreational and sporting attainment, and other similar future developments in leadership training. It is expected that the selected applicants will be offered a contract for a period of up to three years in the first instance. A secondment from an educational institution for a lesser period may be considered. The Council has its headquarters in Wellington but contract officers must be available for travel throughout New Zealand up to 50 days per annum. Candidates for both positions should hold advanced qualifications in recreation or a related educational field, together with relevant recent experience.
