No trace
The Timaru police have been unable to trace the missing Christchurch woman, Mrs Maria Veronica Porritt, in spite of searches of hotels and camp sites in the city. The last reported sighting of Mrs Porritt was last Tuesday, when an employee of a Timaru restaurant said she saw a woman answering her description in the restaurant.
No sightings had been reported since, and Mrs Porritt’s whereabouts was still unknown, said a spokesman for the Timaru police last evening.
