Leather prices rise
As from July 1 most tan-| nenes have increased the I price of sole and upper) leather by up to 15 per cent. In addition there have been recent increases of up to 10 per cent on rubber and other soling materials and with the addition of the 7 per cent General Wage order, it follows that footwear prices will again increase. Several major manufacturers have already notified price rises and others are expected to follow. The public can avoid paying more for footwear in the near future by shopping at Pannell’s Shoe Store, 105 Manchester Street. This is the last week of their Winter Sale and there are still hundreds of pairs of ladies and mens shoes at substantially reduc-) id prices. —Advertisement I
