Woolston ' away’ at home
Woolston W.M.C. will tomorrow play its first Rothmans Soccer League match in Christchurch since June 17 — but it will not be at its home ground. Garrick Park has been ruled out and Woolston’s crucial match against Eastern Suburbs will be played at Queen Elizabeth II Park. The Woolston coach (Mr Terrv Mann) is confident that his team can repeat its grand effort in Auckland earlier in the season, when Woolston beat Suburbs, 1-0. He has decided to stick ; with the same side that finished the game against North Shore last Sunday. This means that Steve
. Smith, who gave an efficient display when he came on in i the second half, retains his ; place in the defence. t He is also contemplating a positional change, pushing i Keith Francis forward to ; add more bite to the attack. Suburbs, even without the I striking talents of the English professional, Steve El- ■ liott, has a more than useful : front line with Earle ; Thomas, Gary Jenkins and I Alf Stamp. i Trans Tours United travel north to meet Blockhouse c Bay tomorrow. The team is : unchanged from that 1 which t beat Stop Out, 2-1, in an . Adidas Challenge Trophy ! quarter-final last Saturday.
Mark McNaughton and Ross Durant will be the reserves, McNaughton having been passed fit after several weeks lay-off through injury. Other Rothmans League matches.— Courier Rangers v. W.D.U. (today), Hamilton v. Columbus Waterside, Stop Out v Mount Wellington, Nelson United v. North Shore, (tomorrow).
Two Broadlands Southern League matches will be played in Christchurch today. Western will meet Technical at MacFarlane Park at 2.45 p.m. and Cash-mere-Wanderers will play Dunedin City at Somerfield Park, starting at 1.00 p.m.
