WRITER’S FELLOWSHIP THE VICTORIA UNIVERSITY Of Wellington Writer’s Fellowship for 1979 is open to writers in all areas of literary activity, including drama, fiction and poetry, New Zealand art, biography, history, etc. Applicants should be authors of proven merit normally resident in New Zealand, or New Zealanders currently resident overseas. The Fellow will have the opportunity of writing full-time in an academic environment. There is no formal teaching requirement. The Victoria University of Wellington Writer’s Fellowship is funded jointly on an annual basis by the University and the New Zealand Literary Fund. The appointment will be from February 1, 1979 to January 31, 1980. Closing date: August 31, 1978. Salary: The salary for the fellowship will be $12,174 per annum including cost of living and other allowances. Any applicant who is enrolled at a university in New Zealand should apply to the Registrar by October 1 or such other date as may be specified by that university. Any other applicant should apply to the Secretary of the University Grants Committee by October 1. POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS — mainly for study in New Zealand. Open to first-class honours graduates who are eligible to register as students for the degree of Ph.D. Emolument $3120 per annum. SIR WALTER MULHOLLAND FELLOWSHIP — for study in New Zealand or overseas. To encourage graduates to enter the field of processing and marketing of our food products.
