PA Wellington Two new appointments to the Racing Authority and the reappointment of the chairman, Mr G. H. Callam, and seven other members, were announced yesterday by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Hlghetl.
Sir Patrick O’Dea. the recently retired Secretary for the Department of Internal Affairs, has been appointed deputy chairman to replace Mr M. B. Smythe, of Wellington. The other new appointment is Mr G. Ryan, of Auckland, the president of the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association. Under the Racing Amendment Act (1877). representation of
greyhound Interests has been provided for on the authority. Others reappednted for a further term of three years are: Mr W. G. Quirk, of Christchurch, and Mr B. Kelly, of Hawera, on the nomination of the Racing Conference; Mr G. C. Crulckshank, of Invercargill, and Mr M. N. Corner, of Auckland (Trotting Conference); Mr J. C. Pollock, of Hamilton (Racing Owners and Trainers Federation and the Thoroughbred Breeders Association); Mr E G. Mitchell, of Christchurch (Trotting Owners, Trainers and Breeders Association, the Trotting Horseman’s and Trainers’ Association, and the Standardbred Breeders 'Association),
