Works talks called off
National conciliation talks between the Meat Workers’ Union and employers — set down for yesterday, today and tomorrow — have been abandoned in the meantime. The union put a ban an the talks, and attendance at meetings of Government committees until after the 192 prosecutions of Ocean Beach freezing workers at the Invercargill Magistrate’s Court tomorrow. The secretary of the union (Mr A. J. Kennedy) said yesterday that no date had been set for further talks.
