Show YOU care Save the “KOKAKO” Please support the “Save the Forests, Save the Kokako” appeal and show you care!! This rare and beautiful native bird is practically extinct in the South Island (last single sighting in 1961). Now, sadly, the “Kokako” faces similar extinction in the North Island because of logging operations. The “Kokako,” a cousin of the “Huia” (long since extinct), is twice as big as the “Tui” . . . colour Blue-Grey with bright Blue wattles. The Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand urgently needs to raise at least $30,000 for research if this endangered native bird is to survive. Please help save the “Kokako” by purchasing an official car sticker at $1 from any ANZ Bank or National Provident Fund office throughout New Zealand. Please display the car sticker and show others you do care. Advertisement
