Crash kills Indonesian officials
NZPA Bali, Indonesia; Nine Indonesian Govern-. ment officials preparing for; a meeting in Bali of President Suharto and Singapore’s' Prime Minister (Lee Kuan , Yew) were killed yesterday; when their helicopter crashed Boon after take-off from Bedugul airstrip. The helicopter crashed only ■ minutes after leaving the tiny | lakeside mountain resort of I Bedugul when its rotor blade ttruck the branches of a treej laid officials at Bali Airport. Among the nine officials killed was Indonesia’s Ambassador to Singapore, Majorueneral Her Tasning. officials laid. The Ambassador’s son Bas also killed. President Suharto and Mr tee were due to arrive about! two hours after the crash. Another among the casual-j jies was Indonesia’s Chief of 1 State Protocol. Mr Alex Warentek.
