Ghanaian seamen lost in N.I.
PA Auckland ; No trace has yet been; found of three Ghanaian seamen who disappeared about three weeks ago after flying to Auckland from Ghana to! join a ship which has not ar’ived. The three disappeared after being accommodated at the Auckland Sailors’ Home at the expense of the New Zealand Seamen’s Union; and the union now has to foot a bill of about S3OO for accommodation which has hardly been use. The Ghanaians, James Bonaparte, Roger Virginniabbey. and Patrick Yaw disappeared after a man, believed to have been a local seaman, called and said he would take them to Mount Maunganui for the day, accordmg to the port chaplain (the Rev. L. D. Brockbank). Mr Brockbank says they have not been near the Tauranga port, and they have left their passports and some gear at the sailors’ home.
