... and what an experience
A junior grade rugby player from Nelson created a little piece of sporting history last Saturday by scoring a try and being ordered off, almost simultaneously. Tony Dick scored a try for Wanderers against Rival at Brightwater, but a fracas broke out on the
goal-line as the referee blew his whistle to award the try. So Basil Ransby, the referee, blew his whistle more piercingly, and sent off Dick and a member of the Rival team, R. Hutchinson. The match had been in progress for only 10 minutes.
