H.A.R.T. finances
In spite of indications that the Halt All Racist Tours organisation may not be able to continue on a full-time basis because of financial di-j faculties, the Canterbury- 1 : Westland branch remains! optimistic. The local branch’s activities do not involve much expenditure and the financial situation is quite sound, i according to the area officer (Ms P. McKay). "We pay for all toll bills and postage but all other ex-1 penditure goes through thei Wellington office,” said MS’ McKay. Any money that was need-i ed by the local branch came from an annual fund-raising! event and a small amount of local donations. However, most donations were sent to the national office. All ofj the local branch’s activities were carried out by volun-f teer workers, Ms McKay! ■ said.
