Sheep carcases have been found in various parts of the city, away from the slaughter area, and live sheep have been picked up roaming the streets. Inspector W. K. Egan, said yesterday that a decomposed carcase had been found in a suburban shopping area about two kilometres away from the slaughter area. If evidence could be obtained about its ownership, prosecution would follow, he said. He appealed _ to the public to help find the l owner of the sheep. However, one of the farm-; ers involved in the protest’ killing said that the farmers; were not responsible for' depositing the decomposed carcase in the suburb. Mr R. J. A. Miller said the rotting carcase was left; there to descredit the farm-! ers. When he heard about it. ihe had collected it and dis-' posed of it, he said. The police say they have! not yet decided whether to prosecute the farmers in-! volved in last weeks protest. !
