Mile to Dixon
NZPA London Rod Dixon (N.Z.) won an invitation mile race to mark the opening of the Alexander Stadium at Perrybar, Birmingham, yesterday. In windy conditions, Dixon clocked 4min 1.77 s with Birchfield’s Ray Smedley second in 4min 2.70 s and the inter-coun-ties champion, Walter Wilkinson, third.
