Two more entries for chess

The acceptance of two entries from St Bede’s College has resulted in the entry of a record 27 teams for “The Press” schools’ chess competition, which starts next week. The competition will provide chess in the second term for almost 200 pupils and this has been recognised by the many notes accompanying the entries which have expressed appreciation at “The Press” continuing to sponsor the tournament that started in 1971.
