Bastion Point

Sir,—How naive does Mr Muldoon think the New Zealand public are? Once again the troubles at Bastion Point are blamed on Communists (“The Press,” June 7). Why does he have to hide behind

the non-existent Communist scare all the time? Unions, industrial unrest and now Bastion Point. Instead of facing minority groups openly and honestly, Mr Muldoon, followed by his Cabinet, hide behind personal remarks and scare methods. I do not support the method of protest at Bastion Point but believe any minority group should be treated with some respect.— Yours, etc., DAVID ANDERSON. June 7, 1978.
