Communists-P.M.
PA Wellington The memorial service at Bastion Point on Monday was “dripping with communists,” according to the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon). He told a post-Cabinet press conference vesterdav that he had had a report of the meeting from a “thoroughly reliable” inter-
ested person who had been at Bastion Point and had taken notes. In answer to a question, Mr Muldoon said the report had nothing to do with the Government. Repeating his previous comments on the Bastion Point protesters. Mr Muldoon said the meeting had been orchestrated by known and active communists.
Bastion Point was a “cause celebre” in the typical communist tradition They were out to get “international mileage” with assertions that the case might be taken to the United Nations, said Mr Muldoon.
