Th ese South Brighton houses were built in an old subdivision that once fronted on to a legal road — not constructed - along the beach foredune. That "paper road” has now been chewed away by the sea, but the houses remain and are sometimes threatened by high tides and storms. Such development would probably not be allowed again.
