Lugged in
Mellseur, favourite for the Corbans Handicap at the Hororata meeting on Saturday, lugged n sharply under pressure about 200 metres from the finish and her rider was forced to take immediately steps to straighten the filly. Harnett was unable to ride Mellseur out fully over the final stages of the race because of her tendency to lug in. She finished seventh.
Country Note and Major McCann, which were racing on the inside of Mellseur at the 200 metres, received slight checks.
