Kirk Trust to make awards
PA Wellington Applications are now being called for awards from the Norman Kirk Memorial Trust in 1979, according to its chairman (Mr A. J. Faulkner). The awards were available to persons in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands “who have ability but lack the opportunity to take the first step towards advancement, whether by further education, study, training or experience,” Mr Faulkner said.
Persons may apply for an award themselves, but must be supported by someone in a responsible position, such as a school principal, employer, trade union, or community group.
Last year, 200 persons applied for awards, and 200 were eventually made. Applications should be sent to Box 12-376, Wellington, before August 24.
