I.M.F sells gold at $US170

NZPA Washington The International Monetary Fund has sold 524,800 ounces of gold at its monthly auction for an average price df $U5170.40 an ounce. The prices on successful bids ranged from $170.11 to $171,50 an ounce. The I.M.F. said it received enough bids to have sold 3.1 M ounces of gold, and sold just slightly less than the 525,000 ounces it had offered. The bidders in the latest [auction are to pay the price ; actually bid.
