ANZAC FELLOWSHIPS 1979 APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for Anzac Fellowships which are available for study or investigation in Australia during 1979. The fellowships, which provide an attractive opportunity, are granted to New Zealand citizens having sufficient background of study or experience to be regarded as likely to make a contribution to New Zealand through their careers. Normally two or three Anzac Fellowships are awarded each year. The fellowships are tenable for periods of 3-12 months. They provide a living allowance at the rate of sAust.2l per day (sAust.766s p.a.), plus an allowance at the rate of sAust.6OO p.a. for a dependent spouse and of sAust.24O p.a. for each dependent child. In addition, provision is made for the payment of certain tuition and travel costs. No specific qualifications are laid down for Anzac Fellows, but where all other factors are equal, preference will be given to applicants under the age of 45 years. Application forms and further particulars may be obtained from the Department of Internal Affairs, Private Bag, Wellington or from the Department’s District Offices in Auckland (P.O. ' 3027 ®New Zealand Forest Service HANMER STATE FOREST PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE WRITTEN NOMINATIONS of persons with qualifications appropriate for appointment to this new committee are invited from individuals and organisations for nine vacancies on this committee. The Hanmer State Forest Park Advisory Committee will compose of the Conservator of Forests or his deputy as chairman, and nine (9) individuals appointed by the Minister of Forests. The function of the committee is to advise the Minister on the Management of the park. Recommendations for appointment are made to the Minister on the basis of the personal knowledge, experience and expertise a nominee is able to contribute to the management of the park in terms of the Forests Act 1949. Regard will be given to people who have demonstrated an interest in the enjoyment and use of forests and particularly of the Hanmer Forest Park. Nominees should have a wide appreciation of the multiple use values and management of forested land and the place forest parks have in our society.
