Police and a pig
The Christchurch police; spent several hours early; this morning investigating the ueath of a pig. A taxi-driver. Mt J. Barr.', said be was stopped by an agitated man about 12.30' a.m., who pointed out a pig running along St Johns! Street. in Woolston. Mr Barr; joined the other man and: helped pursue it behind the! ■ id Woolston Police Station, in Ferry Road. There they found the body! of i dead pig. which had) apparently been bludgeoned' to death. They managed to trap the live pig with boxes. 1 and called the police. The police still had no lead >n the case eariy this mom-; ing. Both animals were; medium-size domestic pork-) ers. and it is believed they mav have been stolen.
