Minister to go overseas
PA Wellington The Minister of Transport (Mr McLachlan) will leave on Saturday for a three-week tour of the United States, Britain, and Europe. While in the United States he will inspect the Boeing Corporation’s headquarters in Seattle and in London will hold informal talks with shipping interests involved in the New Zealand-United Kingdom trade.
He will also have discussions with British Railways officials. The Minister will officially launch the Shipping Corporation’s new container vessel New Zealand Pacific at Bremen on May 23.
He will arrive back m New Zealand on May 28
