Six die after accidents
PA Auckland The Auckland police have identified a woman who died after three cars crashed in the southbound lane of the southern motorway near Mount Eden Prison late on Friday evening. She was Anne Louise Elizabeth Stanford, aged about 19, of Taylors Road, Mount Albert. Seven persons were injured in the accident. The body of a man found dead in the wreckage of a car at Clevedon Road. Ardmore, on Saturday morning was also identified by the police yesterday. He was Robert Douglas Scott, aged 35. of Kerry R.D., Papakura. The police believe that the car ran off the road some
time on Friday night. A Masterton youth died after his car went out of control and crashed at Wainuioru, east of Masterton, early yesterday. He was Darrell Brown, aged 19, of Judge Road, Masterton.
His brother, Tony Brown, was seriously injured in the crash and is in Masterton Hospital. A man died at Rotorua early yesterday morning, after his motor-cycle was in collision with a car. He was Robert Talbot Potter, aged 21, of Lake Okareka. The accident happened on Te Ngae Road at 3.30 a.m. Mr Potter was taken to Rotorua Hospital, where he died three hours later. A woman pedestrian, aged 80, died after being hit by a car in Hillside Road, Dun-
edin, on Saturday evening. She was Hilda Marion McGrath, of South Dunedin. Mrs McGrath was hit by a car when she and her husband were opposite Bathgate Park at 7.45 p.m. She died in Dunedin Hospital about two hours later. Her husband, James Seddon McGrath, is reported to be progressing favourably in hospital.
A power board lineman was killed when he fell from the top of a pole in Jonkers Road, Waitakere, late on Friday evening. He was
Owen Wayne Rawson, aged 33, married, with two children, of Simpson Road, Ranui.
It is believed he fell from the pole and then down a 40ft bank.
